Automotive Technology I

Eric is a very bright and hard working student that will have a great future in the automotive industry. Next month he has signed up for a written exam to compete for scholarship money to the University of Northwestern Ohio. With his drive and ambition we are sure he will do well in this competition!

Brandi Snow

Automotive Technology II

Brandi has not missed a single day of school this year. Brandi puts in a lot of effort to learn as much as she can. She has been working hard fixing up her sisters 95 F150 pickup, so far her and her partner have replaced the oil pan, brakes, wheel bearings, and front u-joints. Most of all Brandi is a stickler for safety constantly reminding students about safety glasses.

Sam Stearns

Portland High School

Carpentry

Sam completed his NCCER Core Certification last year and is on track to complete his NCCER Carpentry level I certification this year. He is current on all his shop projects, been a leader on various school projects such as the Early Childhood playground, and built a raised platform bed for himself. All this was done while working on the house project with the other carpentry students. Sam is motivated, takes responsibility, and an entrepreneur. He is talking about starting his own business.

Emily has worked diligently to bring up her engagement and performance in class over the past couple of months. She helps others in class to stay focused and asks pertinent questions. Her bright smile and lighthearted attitude always lift our spirits and give us a chuckle.

Dance

Emma excels in the dance program because she is a hard worker and expressive mover. Emma's theater background definitely contributes to her great skill as a performer. Emma is exciting to work with, she is a friend to all, and she is quiet leader among her peers. Emma will attend the University of Maine, Farmington in the fall.

Olivia is a junior this year. She works hard, gets all assignments completed on time, and is a kind and helpful member of our team. She recently completed a research project for her English Language Arts and Social Studies classes that focuses the need for early education and how quality preschool can have a positive effect on children, families, and communities.

Bethany is a second year student in the CNA program.   She is always willing to help others in her class. She has great work ethic, and drive. She is always punctual and her attendance is stellar.  Bethany always tries to do her best in every task she takes on. The students in my class seek help from Bethany when they are in need.  It has been a joy to have her in class these past two years.

Anthony has made great improvement over the two years he has attended PATHS. He has learned a great deal about participating as a member of a group and developed much independence, which has become evident this year. His advocacy skills and sense of humor are much appreciated this year.

Masonry

Felixx has a great passion for Masonry. He has steadily honed his Masonry skills in his two years here at PATHS. From large-scale projects to small more detailed ones he has come to school daily with a great determination and appreciation for the hard work that goes in to building. Felixx has already signed up for and been accepted to the Maine School of Masonry starting this fall. We expect great things for him in the future.

Madaline is a model student. She plans on attending CMCC in the fall to study applied science and has received several scholarships to help pay for this. She works part time while also maintaining a 3.5 GPA. In her downtime she likes to repair her friends and families powersports toys!

Manufacturing Technology

Hua competed in the SkillsUSA Maine State CNC Technician Competition at Southern Maine Community College in February against Precision Machining students from other Maine CTE High Schools.  Hua was awarded the Gold Medal for his CNC Programming skills and his Precision Machining knowledge and will represent the State of Maine at the SkillsUSA National Competition in Louisville, KY in June.

Emile Woodruff

Plumbing & Heating

In the shop Emile has spent much of the 3rd quarter working on a low-pressure steam boiler, which had some wiring dilemmas.  He persevered and successfully finished the install.  Emile also joined the instructor and testified in Augusta before a joint legislative committee on a potential bill to allow some exceptional CTE students to take the State of Maine Journeyman’s Exam.   The bill passed through committee and will be voted on later this session.  Emile will be at studying at Kennebec Valley Community College next year and hopes to become the world’s greatest plumbing and heating technician.

Chris Potter

Windham High School

Welding

Chris has passed all his pre certification tests to date.  He is well on his way to qualifying for his 3rd Party AWS national certification test in all positions using the Shielded Metal Arc Welding Process that will be administered in May.   Chris Jr is the son of Chris Potter Sr. who was a welding student at PATHS in 1992-1993 and who is now working with ATA Piping of Windham specializing in Boiler repair.

Darren is a junior and first year student. He is talented woodworker, precise and creative. Darren is always looking to learn new things and is supportive of his classmates.
