HVAC/R
The HVAC/R program introduces students to the principles and practices of residential and light commercial HVAC/R systems, including heating systems, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration. Instruction integrates core academic concepts in applied mathematics, science, and technical literacy with hands-on skill development in a lab/shop environment. A strong emphasis is placed on workplace safety and health, with instruction aligned to OSHA-10 construction competencies. Students will demonstrate safe work practices including hazard recognition, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), electrical safety, and safe handling of refrigerants and pressurized systems. Students who complete the program can further their education or enter into the workforce as a residential or commercial, HVAC technician, pipe fitter, AC specialist, and more.
